This is a picture of my ancestors sitting in our estate, Emmekhan, taken in the year 1932

Welcome to Hurida, a brand that brings you the finest coffee from the lush landscapes of Chikmagaluru, Karnataka. I’m a 22-year-old and a proud 5th generation coffee planter. My family has owned Emmekhan Estate for generations, cultivating coffee in harmony with the rich ecosystem of the Western Ghats. This brand is my endeavor to share the essence of our estate with you, along with everything else that thrives in this unique environment.
At Emmekhan Estate, we specialise in growing Grade 1 Specialty Arabica Coffee. Our beans are handpicked and meticulously graded to ensure that each cup embodies the exceptional quality and distinct flavours of our land. With Hurida, we plan on exploring the culture beyond coffee; we aim to offer you a complete experience of Chikmagaluru. Each product reflects the natural abundance and aromatic heritage of the region.
Some may call Hurida my "pet project," but for me, it’s much more—it’s a heartfelt effort to extend our legacy beyond the foothills of Chikmagaluru, reaching coffee lovers across India and, one day, around the world.

Our Name | Hurida

ಹುರಿದ [hoo-ree-da] (noun): Kannada for "roast." I picked this word not only because my mother tongue is Kannada but also as a nod to the deep-rooted tradition of roasting coffee in our culture. It symbolizes the care and craftsmanship that goes into each batch, capturing the warmth and richness of Chikmagaluru in every roast.
